Barren Hills Turned into Fertile Fields

Introduction about Barren Hills Turned into Fertile Fields

The demonstration zone of Greatech’s "Barren Hills Turned into Fertile Fields" covers a total area of 30 acres, of which 12.5 acres of demonstration farmland is equipped with a reservoir with a capacity of 3,000 square meters. The farmland section was originally a mine spoil site. After the "five-grind and five-layer" process, the planting soil was laid, and finally water was introduced for irrigation to form a rice field. Since the year-to-date , the farmland seedlings in the demonstration area have grown luxuriantly, which proves that the plan of turning barren hills into good fields is feasible!

There have been many difficulties in the reconstruction of fertile land. Among them, the difficulty of construction caused by land subsidence and the lack of available water sources nearby are the most prominent. In order to solve these two major problems, the  "Barren Hills Turned into Fertile Fields"  project used a lot of engineering equipment to initially level the land, and then used a lot of manpower to level it by blocks, and finally invested in the construction of a pool and the laying of a 1,600-meter PVC pipe. So far, more than 1.2 million yuan has been spent on 12.5 acres of fertile land.

Turning barren hills into fertile fields is an important measure of our company to build a full-life-cycle green mine. It is also a powerful response to the slogan of General Secretary Xi that "holds Chinese food security in our own hands" and "green mountains are golden mountains and silver mountains". It proves that Greatech is fulfilling the important mission of giving back to the society at all times! We will continue to promote the transformation of barren hills into fertile land, and strive to continue to build 120 acres of fertile land this year.
